Every so often our salon, Orchard & Ludlow has the honor to host a talented artist in our art gallery. Make your way to us through the Lower East Side to catch the beautiful artwork of Grace Gutekanst.
A common theme in Grace’s artwork is the usage of bright tones and colors to tell a story. The North Carolina native’s paintings are eye-catching and hard to miss and these days you can find them in our newly renovated shop.
Grace is a true definition of an artist, specifically an expressionist artist. She attended the Savannah College of Art and Design and received her BFA in Painting in March of 2014. Since then her foot has permanently been on the gas pedal as she has consistently collaborated with other talented artists with Craig Pleasants for ‘Si Tu Vois Ma Mère’ being one of them. Grace’s talents have taken her to Cambodia where she worked for the international arts and culture magazine, MILK Magazine and eventually became the Editor-in-Chief of its sister magazine, Justeen Magazine. Eventually in 2017, Grace made her way to the place she calls home today, New York.
Orchard & Ludlow is honored to showcase four of Grace’s paintings in our Manhattan gallery. Take a walk in our neighborhood to see her paintings: Rest in Love, Growth & Anguish, Shadow of a Doubt, and Worldly Witness.
This is not our first nor will it be our last artist spotlight. Keep up with us to see how we
appreciate art, culture and more.
